Desert Escape June 13, 2011

Progress is going slow but the quality of the work is good. We have great fellowship and good weather to work in. The scenery is great in Fairview Valley. All who visit the site are excited. Bob and Laurie Reich were at the property on Sunday evening with us. Bob is motivated and will help out as he can. Bob has a great testimony that you can find on the ministry web site. A link is provided. Bob teaches the Word of God in prisons and is a great companion on the Sierra Trail systems.

Family has been with us when Jeanne had surgery. Titus, Daniela, Becky and Sarah were here to help their mom for a few days, what a special family we have! We have a new and first great grand son James Fullan. His dad is an officer in the army in Afghanistan. His mom is finishing up as a registered nurse with a degree and is waiting four more months till Sean, Jame's dad comes home.

John Miller has had surgery, one of our Bible teachers at the Desert View facility. By the way that prison will be closed in December. We have one new facility opening here. John is doing well for which we thank the Lord.

The correspondence department of this ministry is doing as usual and we thank the Lord for Genie and Janet Cash who work correcting ECS courses from inmates. Tammie does well with the mail and corrections of multiple choice answers. Jeanne has been sort of inactive in the correspondence ministry right now but she is ready to get back to work again, for which we all thank the Lord!

Desert Escape: The Bible School for Men on Parole

Finally on May 5, 2011 we enter escrow on a purchase of 27.6 acres of land for the express purpose of helping men who have been incarcerated advance with Christ through God's Word. This discipling ministry will help men come to maturity in Christ. We value your prayers.

Hang On: There will be more information uploaded this May about the purchase of this property, the history of the search but most of all the wonderful way that the Lord has been with us in the last 4 years as we have searched for just the right place. Won't you praise the Lord with us?  Pictures, location and a Google link to mapping will follow.

The path to escape is found in Christ...

The Lord is interested in all people of the earth. Prisoners are no exception. Many are ignorant of the fact that the Lord has a better life for them. The mission of the church and the mission of those whom God has called to reach out to these is still centered in the heart of our God. We have responsibilities as stewards to be faithful to the call of God in bringing the gospel of Jesus Christ to people in all the world. We still have responsibility to make disciples of all nations. These factoids can be found at the close of Matthew and are words uttered by the risen Christ.

The thing that appeals to human senses most is the taking care of their physical needs and this often becomes a priority over the more lasting part of man, his eternal soul and spirit. The body fails but the spirit endures and woe to those who die in their sins. Compassion for their spiritual need is of greater importance. We must be led of the Lord and seek under God to meet those needs. The leadership of High Desert Ministries of California is set to minister to the souls of men who flounder with sin control. Christ alone can bring an escape method for the sinner. The soul that sinneth... it shall die! Christ the giver of life still has gracious offers.
